学术 事务 Priorities and Vision

教务长的作用

The Provost is the Chief 学术 Officer of the University, providing primary administrative leadership, 方向, and evaluation for all academic activities and 教师 affairs of the University. The Provost collaborates with the President in setting overall academic priorities for the University. As part of the University’s strategic plan, the Provost works closely with the Vice President of 学生事务 to expand student pathways and access to higher education, and increase student success/completion. The Provost also oversees the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management to help guide our recruitment and retention-related efforts. The Provost maintains a close working relationship with the leadership of the University Faculty Senate. Recommendations made by the Faculty Senate, on behalf of the campus 教师, are regularly communicated in writing and in person to the Provost and the President.  The Provost is also the chairperson of the 毕业典礼 Committee.

In partnership with deans, 教师, 和工作人员, the Office of the Provost and Vice President for 学术 事务 coordinates 教师 recruitment, academic program development and review, 学生成功计划, 毕业典礼, research and economic development, inter国家 and global initiatives, and community outreach and service. Our objective is to help students achieve their highest level of success by developing and maintaining excellence throughout the university’s academic endeavors.
