The Student 咨询中心 (SCC) on campus provides 咨询 services to all registered students at 澳门合法赌场官网. The mission of the 澳门合法赌场官网 Student 咨询中心 is to provide ISU students with timely and effective mental health services that allow them to improve and maintain their mental well-being and therefore to meet their educational, 个人, 情感, 心理目标. We also provide outreach and 咨询 services that help create supportive learning and living environments, while at the same time addressing students' developmental needs to help them become effective and productive citizens.

GOALS

To provide students with the necessary life skills to mature and attain their highest performance, while achieving optimum happiness during their attendance at ISU.

The SCC does not offer treatment for all 情感 or psychological disorders, particularly those disorders that are chronic, severe, or involving the high risk of harm to self or others, including severe 个人ity or psychotic disorders, 严重的药物滥用或康复. Clients needing extended treatment or special services beyond those offered at the SCC will be referred to competent resources in the Terre Haute community.

Our staff cannot reveal nor confirm the identity of students seeking SCC services, 他们参与这些服务, nor the content of communications with those students to those outside the SCC staff without the student’s knowledge and written consent. Important Note: We do not have a Student 咨询中心 email account and do not provide email 咨询.

Due to variations in work schedules, it may be days (or weeks) before an email account is checked. VALUES

  • Provide direct professional mental health services to ISU students, 包括个人和团体咨询, 危机应对, 咨询, 简短的评估, 咨询, that are accessible to and provide for the general well-being of all ISU students.

  • Provide appropriate referral for students who may have concerns that are not within our scope of proficiency; or problems that may be chronic or severe in nature and may require more services than the SCC is capable of offering.

  • Counselors will seek to encourage self-awareness, 个人 responsibility and healthy inter个人 relationships within a diverse environment.

  • Maintain open communication between providers, staff, 和客户, while at the same time ensuring confidentiality and privacy as mandated by state and federal laws.

  • Provide prevention programming and 咨询 to students, faculty, and staff with the purpose of facilitating healthy development, 健康, 以及心理功能.

  • Facilitate education and training of students and staff on topics that are germane to the healthy functioning and well-being of ISU students.

  • Ensure that all services provided are vital, current, and ethical.

  • Maintain positive and ongoing relationships with the campus and surrounding community, with an emphasis in establishing and sustaining liaisons with those groups who have regular contact with ISU students.

  • Provide continued professional and 个人 development opportunities to our staff, with the express purpose of reducing burnout and allowing counselors to find a sense of balance; which will in turn allow them to maintain a high level of work with clients.

  • Counselors will conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the ethical guidelines set forth by the APA.
